Warehouse Processing Assistants Immediate Start

Samaritan’s Purse is a non-profit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse collects over 200,000 gift filled shoeboxes each year for children in developing countries, demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Opportunity

We are seeking candidates to assist with processing of shoeboxes in our temporry warehouse facility in Harris Street, North St Marys.

This position is:

a short-term contract
from early November to 13 December
full-time Tuesday to Saturday 8.00 am – 4.30pm

Duties & Responsibilities

Co-ordinating, handling and packing shoeboxes into outer cartons
Despatch of cartons in containers ready for shipping
Other duties as assigned by a supervisor
Working alongside volunteers

Selection Criteria

A degree of physical fitness is required as the role involves manual handling and lifting, with some heavy boxes up to 15kg. Lifting above shoulder height may also be involved.
Be able to follow instructions as directed by the Supervisor
Demonstrate values aligned with Samaritan’s Purse
Must be an Australian citizen/resident

Church Mental Health Summit

As you may recall, mental health was identified as a key concern for the region at the Serving Our City Event earlier this year.

Since then we have formed a small committe to formulate a response from the one Church Family and we’re delighted to introduce Paul Burke to champion this for us.

In addition to this, NAYBA has gathered a group of renowned church leaders, mental health practitioners, lived-experience advisors, and theologians to lead us in this critical conversation for our time.

This may be the first event of its kind ever convened in Australia and we’d love you to be part of it.

It's all happening on Wednesday 19th October 2022 from 9:30am-12:30pm AEDT.

The Summit will take place online (via Zoom) to enable as many people as possible to participate.
